Muuuuuuch Better Day

Today I woke up around noon and went to the school to get registered. After waiting in a line for international students for about 45 minutes I left and decided to go back tomorrow morning bright and early. I took a wander downtown through the city centre and immediately fell in love with it. It's very touristy with lost of people and old buildings with shops and pigeons and all that jazz. I found the first mall (*insert eyeroll from Dad here) which isn't too far from the school. I was starved at this point and so I had a Whopper from Burger King - I didn't particularly enjoy it but after yesterday's nasty Starbucks sandwich I wasn't very much like Starbucks food. Left the mall and kept walking down the way and stopped in at every mobile phone provider to find the best deal for my phone, kept walking and found another mall (don't worry dad - money is saved for your Christmas present...and travelling)! But I went in anyways and bought a set of 2 pillows + cases for like ₤14 to replace my crappy one. Next I needed food to have at my room, I never did find a grocery store...
I did find a PoundLand - yep, British Dollar store. So I bought some food to last me till I find real stuff and some little essential stuff. It's was raining at that point so I decided it was time to head back. Not a bad day all in all.

This is for all my Brock friends because of
The Merchant Alehouse in St. Catharines...
I found the real one!

Here's What I've Learned Thus Far:

Starbucks is everywhere - around every corner.
Look the opposite way when crossing the street.
Pedestrians have the right away is NOT the most important rule of the road.
People cannot tell I'm foreign just by looking at me, although it seems that way.
   Subway isn't too far away.
There is a lot of different Banks here.
Cellphone prices are crazy cheap - Canadians are being robbed.
It's pretty inconvenient that everyone is 5hrs behind.
'School' = public school, 'Uni' = University. Try not to get them confused.

Anywho, I'm happy to say that today was a much better day than yesterday, I'm still settling in, still crazy to think I'm in Scotland. Kind of excited for classes to start and get underway but that's not for 2 weeks... so we'll see how well I can occupy the weeks.

See y'all later.

Taylor
